About Me

The UNESCO Chair has participated and / or coordinated numerous national and international projects on life cycle analysis (LCA), ecodesign, green procurement and environmental communication (ecolabels) of products, carbon and water footprints, governance in environmental management and integration of social and economic aspects into environmental impact assessments. These projects, funded by both public and private entities, provide compatible solutions that are meeting the demands of the market, social expectations and respect towards the environment, integrating the three areas of sustainability.

 

The goal of the UNESCO Chair is to promote research, education, the establishment of cooperative networks and the generation of documentation aimed at sustainable development of products and processes worldwide. This allows a remarkably improvement of the life cycle methodology applied to climate change and its prevention, adding value to the state of the art. Furthermore, UNESCO Chair promotes activities in an international framework facilitating partnerships among worldwide well-known researchers and lecturers of Universities and other institutions from Europe, Latin America, Caribbean and Africa, and other regions the world.
