About Me

Muammer Kaya was born in Turkey in 1960. He graduated from Mining Engineering Department of Eskisehir-Osmangazi University (ESOGU) in 1981. He obtained his Master of Engineering (M.Eng) and PhD degrees from Metallurgical Engineering Department of McGill University in Canada  in 1984 and 1989, respectively. He has been working at Eskisehir-Osmangazi University, Mining Engineering Department  since 1990. He worked as a director of Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Technological Research Center for 15 years. Dr. Kaya established and become the first director of a vocational school at his University  for 3 years. He has been working as the dean of Engineering and Architectural Faculty of ESOGU since 2020.

Dr. Kaya is working on mineral processing, flotation, magnetic separation, gravity separation, size reduction, waste management, recycling (e-waste, used  house-hold battery, paper, plastics, mine wastes etc.), air and water pollutions, leaching of metals, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, solvent extraction, plant design, equipment selection in mineral processing etc. Prof. Kaya is conducting national, international (EU and bilateral) projects on waste recycling and waste management.

Dr. Kaya wrote seven scientific and technical book chapters, five books, many SCI papers in  international journals and attended many international and national conferences and congresses. He is a member of AIME, TMS and CIM. Prof. Kaya is a chief editör and in editorial boards of some journals and peer reviewer of many Journals. Dr. Kaya is married with two childreen.
