We are an NGO founded in 2014 with the vision to create an informative culture in Cyprus that honours, respects and includes parents in the decision making process of creating and growing a family, while providing evidence based, multidisciplinary information. We have run campaings and programs on supporting expecting and new parents, awareness campaings on C-sections which are 4X the recommended rate by WHO in our country, and developed educational resources for expecting and new parents through the Baby Buddy program (babybuddy.com.cy), available for FREE in 5 languages (through an Erasmus project). Our priorities for this year include support through the Baby Buddy Program, lobbying for parental leave extension, and collaboration with municipalities to provide midwifery care which is lacking in our country. We are aiming for contexts in the context of CERV-Daphne especially Gender Based Violence Prevention and Gender Equality on topics that include promoting a culture of consent in childbirth and perinatalhealthcare and preventing obstetric violence, enhancing perinatal support through community midwifery led care, and human rights education and training for health professionals.
