About Me

Caleidoscopio APS is a theatrical association which was founded in 2009 in Grottammare (Centre of Italy). Caleidoscopio deals with training and education, production and distribution in the theater field: Since 2016, the association has taken over management a theater in San Benedetto del Tronto: the Cineteatro San Filippo Neri, in which she organizes events of various kinds and deals mainly with the artistic direction of the annual theatrical season and with social and cultural projects.

Caleidoscopio is mainly made up of young people under 35, both professionals and non-professionals who share the desire to create dialogue and cultural participation on the territory. The association organizes annual theater courses for children and teenagers, summer internships and social theater courses for people suffering from psychic or physical pathologies. It produces original shows, mainly of contemporary theater, which were staged both in matinée for the schools of the region and in the evening for the general public. Caleidoscopio has distributed its shows in various theaters in the area and collaborates with many organizations for event planning.

Some guys from Caleidoscopio also dedicate themselves to the creation of national festivals such as "Vuoti d'aria", a showcase of contemporary art born in 2018, or try to participate in any national and international call with the aim of making their art known also to the outside the environment in which they operate.

Every person in Caleidoscopio followed an education path depending on personal interests, and then became a resource for the entire group. "Togetherness" and diversity are the main strenghts of the group.

According to Caleidoscopio, experiencing theater means creating a safe space where everyone can feel supported, able to express themselves, in order to grow up by sharing ideas and experiences with other individuals.

The main mission of the association is to sensibilise people (especially youth) to the theatrical field; this is done mostly through the education activities and multidisciplinary projects, in partnership with schools and other non-profit stakeholders.

Currently, Caleidoscopio is organising a festival of performing arts on a national scale, but also managing a social project aiming to connect young and elderly people on the topic of storytelling.

Caleidoscopio has already taken part in a European mobility exchange in 2019: "Odyssée Moderne", created in partnership with Crescendo Association (France), consisted in a cultural exchange for young people with disabilities, on the theme of Homer's Odyssey.

Caleidoscopio is thus interested in taking part in social and cultural projects, especially Erasmus+.
