The CONNECT Centre for Future Networks and Communications is funded under Science Foundation Ireland's Research Centres programme and co-funded under the European Regional Development Fund. CONNECT's mission is to research and develop innovative solutions for the communications challenges facing society today. CONNECT is hosted by Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and brings together research expertise from TCD and nine other Irish academic institutes: Cork Institute of Technology, Dublin City University, Maynooth University, Technological University Dublin, Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Limerick and Waterford Institute of Technology. It aims to create a one-stop-shop for telecommunications research, development and innovation. The Internet of Things, 5G networks and new broadband architectures are among CONNECT’s main areas of focus.
