A senior academic with over 20 years’ experience in computing science and digital media education, teaching in a diverse range of areas including software engineering, algorithmic development, interactive media, mobile app development, educational technology, and UX/UI. Daniel was previously the Head of the Department of Informatics with oversight of programmes in Data Science, Human Language Technologies, Cyber Security, Computing, and Creative Digital Media. Daniel’s doctoral studies and active research areas are focused on educational technology, and he has worked extensively with a range of higher education bodies including the National Digital Learning Repository (NDLR), the Irish Learning Technology Association (ILTA), the Learning Innovation Network (LIN), Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance (DRHEA SIF II), the horizon group and many others. He has worked on four funded EU projects on themes of educational technology and maintains a key interest in interactive, immersive and gaming technologies.
