Social Innovation Centre
Social innovation centre (SIC) has been established in 2010. The legislative form - non-governmental ; Five volunteers work for NGO as 1/2 time employees and runs various activities. We aim at strengthening and disseminating the knowledge, promoting the international and national experience exchange and establishing the networking for social innovation thus enhancing the sustainable development of ;We recon social innovation as the best solution that offers an efficient, sustainable and positive social change or solution for society’s ;There are 3 main areas SIC concentrates on :
- promotion of social entrepreneurship;
- different solutions to overcome youth unemployment;
- society challenges (people with special needs).
As Latvia is small country we do not work for very specific social context, but rather see that all activities we execute leads to better situation of different social groups (unemployed youth, people with special needs, unemployed adults etc.). Our work in most cases is project based, than project cycle management approach. The specific areas of key personal: innovation, society challenge, youth skills, lifelong learning, innovative ;Human resource development is the primary key! Education of individuals can help them use their knowledge and skills more efficient to tackle social challenges!
