About Me
Paper Boat Stories d.o.o. is a cultural start-up founded in Zagreb in 2020 by Italian journalist Giovanni Vale. We run the editorial project Extinguished Countries, a series of travel books to countries that no longer exist. The goal of the series is to show that our identity is composite, the result of different experiences from the past, and ultimately that we have more in common than what divides us. Our first book, Republic of Venice, was published in 2021 after a very successful crowdfunding campaign, and we are currently working on our second guidebook: Habsburg Empire. Paper Boat Stories is keen on journalism, research, cultural and sustainable tourism, digital communication, podcasting and storytelling.
