About Me

Starting from 1982, I spent 8 years as a research engineer and project leader working on technological research contracts with industrial firms (Electricite de France, COMEX), using advanced microprocessor design, high performance real-time architectures (computer vision, military/industrial network monitoring, multimedia sub-systems), teaching computer vision and parallel computing to high-school students and industry professionals.

Between 1991 and 1996, I have been leading one of the major french supercomputing centers (CRAY and unix systems) focusing on customer service and training, facility management and advanced visualization tools.

In 1997, I became the director at IMeT (Institut Méditerranéen de Téléactivité, founded by INRIA and Orange), based in Sophia Antipolis and Marseille, delivering innovative approaches in education, health, media and emerging e-business.

I have then been working for two years as a senior consultant at MUTANDI, a firm set up by INRIA and Caisse des dépôts to bring high level consulting services to french local authorities in the emerging fields of information society.

In 2001, I joined Préfecture de région Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur to boost the PAGSI (plan d'action gouvernemental pour la société de l'information). I was in charge with strategic projects and regional policies related to information society. In 2007, I took the responsability for Mediterranean cooperation programmes (funded by ERDF and ENPI), and synergy with CIP/RTD framework programmes. For 3 years, I have then been advising the Préfet de région on digital economy and innovative financing.,

Starting from june 2017, I am now a project director in charge of industrial partnerships and digital innovation projects within the Smart Region team, Région Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur, with a focus on AI applied to employment and training, facial recognition, data protection issues, pre commercial procurement and IP negotiation.

Since 1998, I participated several times in TEN-TELECOM,e-TEN and CIP/ICT-PSP european framework programmes as an evaluation and review expert.
