About Me

PRAKSIS is a Greek independent, humanitarian, not for profit association, whose main goal is the design and implementation of humanitarian programs and medical interventions. PRAKSIS, since 2004 is implementing both developmental as well as emergency programs.

PRAKSIS operates both in mainland (Attica, Northern Greece, Patras) as well as in eastern Aegean islands, providing health, psychosocial and legal support, via specific premises as also mobile units and outreach teams. PRAKSIS operates through a holistic approach and via multidisciplinary teams (social workers/social scientists, psychologists, nurses, doctors, interpreters etc.). Main axes of intervention include prevention activities, multi-level support services, advocacy, lobbying and research. PRAKSIS’ programs aim at combating social and economic exclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups, such as Greek poor, homeless, uninsured, economic immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, unaccompanied and separated children, SGBV victims, trafficking survivors, victims of torture, sex workers, children begging in the streets, vulnerable youth, people who inject drugs (PWID), Roma, HIV seropositive people / PLWHA, Hepatitis B and C patients, LGBQTI+ people, prisoners and ex-prisoners.

PRAKSIS services include: direct and free of charge primary health care and pharmaceutical provision; social support; psychological support; work counselling and promotion to labor; legal counselling and representation; side supportive services; basic hygiene services (showers, hygiene kits, clothing, NFIs etc.); accommodation facilities; cultural mediation and interpretation; escorting.
