About Me

Eugonia LTD is an Assisted Reproduction Unit accredited with ISO 9001 and EN 15224, located in Athens, Greece, founded in 2000 by Dr Tryfon Lainas. Eugonia is an SME that employs 21 staff, 7 doctors and many external partners. The Unit performs approximately 800 cycles per year and offers the full spectrum of fertility services, including IVF, ICSI, IUI, testicular biopsy, embryo biopsy/PGT, timelapse embryo culture and cryopreservation of gametes and embryos.

 Eugonia is committed to clinical and scientific excellence, being among the leading ART Units in Greece. Eugonia over the years has published original studies in high-impact journals. Dr Tryfon G. Lainas MD PhD Director of Eugonia is one of the founders of IVF in Greece with a variety of research work published at respectful Universal scientific magazines long experience in this particular area for at least 30 years, spherical knowledge and a unique literary course.

At Eugonia we have a strong track record of international pioneering research and scientific publications in high impact journals. This includes over 30 publications accompanied by 460 bibliographic references.

Eugonia members have been elected in important positions in European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE ), the largest society in Reproductive Medicine worldwide. In particular, Reproduction Gynaecologist Dr Georgios T. Lainas is currently serving as Past Coordinator of the Special Interest Group of Reproductive Endocrinology and is also a member of ESHRE’s Guidelines group.

Our Unit has developed lasting research collaborations with Greek Universities, foreign Institutions and companies, aiming at completing innovative research studies that could improve the safety and effectiveness of the therapy, such as Merck, KU LEUVEN, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Ubitech, Barts & Royal London University Hospital, CERTH and University of New South Wales.

Research interests at this time are focused on personalizing medicine within the field of IVF through machine learning techniques, including research on optimizing the type and dosage of stimulation, the day of triggering final oocyte maturation, preventing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and embryo grading and selection. Many of these projects are being actualized thanks to the utilization of  our extensive, detailed and carefully curated database of fresh and frozen IVF cycles that contains clinical, embryological and ultrasound data for over 8,000 cycles, with over 120 registered parameters per cycle.
