About Me

The NO FRONTIERS – 21 CENTURY Association is a Bulgarian not-for-profit organisation. It is domiciled in the town of Kyustendil in South-Western Bulgaria but its activities are not limited to that region and can cover the entire territory of the country.

The major goals of the Association are as follows:

  1. Create contacts and lasting relations between Bulgarian and foreign local governments, associations, companies, cultural institutions, educational establishments, etc.
  2. Promote and support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria and their partnership with similar organizations in other countries.
  3. Render assistance for furthering the professional development and upgrading the managing skills of local and regional organisations and institutions.
  4. Free exchange of ideas, knowledge, skills for the comprehensive development of the Balkan Region.
  5. Support research and promote knowledge on Bulgarian and other nations’ history, ethnic culture, folklore, literature, arts, traditions, customs, crafts and other values.
  6. Enhance cross-border cooperation between local and regional organisations and institutions for the purpose of promoting local economic development and tourism, increasing employment, protecting and improving the environment, building their organizational and institutional capacity.
  7. Provide care and services to disadvantaged people (individuals with disabilities, orphans, senior citizens, etc.) and aid their overall integration in society.

Our team is enthusiastic and energetic with good language skills.

If your activity fields coincide with ours, we can establish partnerships and/or cooperation for the implementation of joint projects.

If your sphere differs from ours, we can link you to organisations operating in your area that are willing and capable to cooperate with you. We can draft the Bulgarian part of joint projects. We can offer translation of materials and interpretation at conferences and seminars. We can organize exhibitions, study trips, meetings, workshops, discussions and other forums. We can collect and provide information to you and/or have it analyzed for you, or convey your materials and other information to the right parties. We can offer consultations and advice. Due to our broad network of contacts we can offer expertise in areas such as: design, research, printing and publishing, advertising, marketing, training, etc.

Implemented projects:

Biodiversity and Waste to Art, Bulgaria – Serbia IPA Crossborder Programme /2007CB16IPO006-2011-2-59

Aim: to support the establishment of an area of territorial cohesion, competitiveness and good neighbourly relations by developing cross-border links and social, economic and environmental convergence of young people in the Bulgarian-Serbian border region and to attain sustainable and long-term partnership between young people in the border region for the implementation of joint actions and initiatives of a cross-border nature. To raise the awareness of young people on regional biodiversity and resource efficiency through art and cultural exchange stimulating responsible environmental and civic behaviour. Results: functioning cross-border youth network for biodiversity and waste management; acquired knowledge and skills by the target groups of biodiversity and waste management issues and responsible environmental and civic behaviour; improved professional skills of teachers and experts by learning about European models and practices for regional biodiversity loss prevention, management of resource efficiency through art and cultural exchange at  school.

Digital Culture for Regional Cohesion, Bulgaria – FYR of Macedonia IPA Crossborder Programme/2007CB16IPO007-2011-2-06

A marketing type of a project. Aim: to create a model for digitizing cultural content and using it for promoting the cultural assets in the Bulgaria-Macedonia cross-border region and to raise the awareness of the population in the cross-border area, and particularly of young people, about the regional and European dimension of culture. Results: created common Bulgarian-Macedonian portal of digitized cultural assets, both tangible and intangible, arranged by category, using 360 degree panoramic photos, videos, a video film making tutorial and an e-learning platform, disseminated postcards, posters and Digitized Beauty booklet for promotional purposes, etc.

Green ambassadors for climate change prevention, Bulgaria – Serbia IPA Crossborder Programme/2007CB16IPO006-2009-1-41

Aim: to create a model of stable and practical cooperation between young people in the Bulgarian-Serbian border region and to raise the awareness of young people on climate change issues and on responsible environmental and civic behaviour through a cooperative practical approach promoting common problem solving for improving the quality of life in the border region. Results: functioning cross-border youth network for climate change prevention; acquired knowledge and skills by the target groups to distinguish and prevent climate change and on responsible environmental and civic behaviour; improved professional skills of teachers and experts by learning about European models and practices for climate change prevention at school.

YOUTH HEALTH PROMOTION, PHARE JSPF Bulgaria-Serbia /BG 2005

Aim: to create a model of stable and practical cooperation between young people in the Bulgarian-Serbian border region for the purpose of health promotion and improvement of the quality of life. Results: functioning cross-border youth network for health promotion; acquired knowledge and skills by the target groups to distinguish and prevent health risks; improved professional skills of teachers and experts by learning about European models and practices for health promotion at  school.

YOUTH, CULTURE AND FUN, PHARE JSPF Bulgaria-Serbia/BG 2004 / 016–

Aim: to create a model of stable and practical cooperation between young people on both sides of the border to develop cultural relations. Results: a cross-border youth volunteer network for cultural and social initiatives was set up; cultural exchange was promoted; young people were motivated to participate in the preservation and development of cultural traditions in the border region; positive attitude to the neighbouring country’s cultural heritage was cultivated;

Aim: to stimulate the indigenous potential of mountain regions to strengthen the business environment and to promote a diversified development strategy.
Results: introduced specific managerial and operational tools for the strategic planning and management in mountain areas to foster dynamic economic development and growth; a network of high-quality health and wellness tourism destinations set up and promoted; transferred know-how and improved competences of local public and private actors.
