Dr. Mehmet Akif Karaman is an Assisstant Professor of counseling at the Kilis 7 Aralık University. Dr. Karaman worked as a licenced professional counselor in psychatric hospitals, school districts, and non-profit organisations. He worked as a professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley for two years and conducted valuable research on refugees, college students, immigrants, minorities, and positive psychology ;

He currently work on projects related on Syrian Refugees specifically Syrian College students and ;

He is open to cooperate with different institutions from other countries, such as Europian Union members. He is in progress developing "Prevention of suicide among Syrian refugees and Turkish citizens who are habitants of Kilis ;
