About Me

My name is Konstantinos Plakas, Chemical Engineer, PhD, Associate Researcher in the Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH). CERTH founded in 2000 is one of the leading research centres in Greece and listed among the TOP-20 research institutions with the highest participation in competitive research ;CERTH has important scientific and technological achievements in many areas including: Energy, Environment, Industry, Mechatronics, Information & Communication, Transportation & Sustainable Mobility, Health, Agro-biotechnology, Smart farming, Safety & Security, as well as several cross-disciplinary scientific areas.

My R&D activities are tied to those of the Natural Resources and Renewable Energies Laboratory of CPERI Institute at CERTH; focused on the development and verification of novel, hybrid water and wastewater treatment technologies based on membrane filtration, biological treatment and advanced oxidation, in the principles of sustainability, circular economy and ;

There are several projects in progress or recently completed, funded by EU and national funding agencies; AQUACYCLE/ENICBCMED (); AGREFINE/H2020 (); AGROCYCLE/H2020 (); SPOTVIEW/H2020  (); PHOTOX/GSRT (); ANATHREPSI/GSRT (); etc.

We are following the new Horizon Europe Calls, with emphasis on the calls of Pillar 2, Cluster 4, 5 and 6, as well as LIFE, INTERREG, CEFIC and other calls of interest. More specifically, we are interested in the following HEU calls:
