Who we are
Kırklareli Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry is a regional public authority operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye. As the official governmental body responsible for the agricultural and rural development policies in Kırklareli province, we serve as a bridge between national strategies and local needs. Our institution works closely with farmers, producers, cooperatives, and rural communities to strengthen sustainable agriculture, food safety, environmental protection, and animal husbandry practices.
Our activity
Our Directorate implements national agricultural policies at the provincial level, providing technical support, inspections, certifications, training, and grant coordination for thousands of stakeholders. We oversee plant production, animal health and breeding, agricultural infrastructure, rural development programs, and forest management. Through continuous fieldwork and administrative services, we contribute to the economic vitality of Kırklareli’s agricultural sector.
Projects in progress
We are currently engaged in several national and international projects, including IPARD (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance in Rural Development), Horizon Europe initiatives, and cross-border cooperation programs like Interreg NEXT. These projects aim to foster innovation, capacity building, and sustainable resource use among rural producers. Notably, we are implementing the ROOTS Project, which supports small ruminant farmers through a holistic model of investment, education, and advisory services.
The Calls we're following
We actively follow EU-funded cooperation calls under Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin, IPA CBC Bulgaria–Türkiye, Horizon Europe (Cluster 6 – Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment), and other rural-focused funding instruments. We prioritize calls that align with our goals in rural entrepreneurship, sustainable food systems, climate adaptation, and smart agriculture.
Our cooperation activity
Our Directorate has a strong tradition of cooperation with academic institutions, municipalities, civil society organizations, and international partners. We participate in knowledge exchange platforms and project consortia across Europe and neighboring regions. We are open to establishing new partnerships to share best practices, co-develop solutions, and expand the impact of rural development policies.
