About Me

DEPAN City Network, “Hellenic Development City Network” (non-profit association), was officially established at the beginning of November 2015 as an initiative of twenty three sponsoring organizations in Greece, who gave financial support to the Network in its first year of operations.

DEPAN-City Network considers international cooperation a very important issue for the development of its members and aim to mobilize stakeholders from Government, Academic Institutions, Private Sector and Society towards the establishment of an International Cooperation Platform according to the Quadruple Helix Model.

The Members of the Network are joining forces in order to develop and effectively manage public services and infrastructure, to take advantage of the available EU and International Funding Instruments and to respond in the best possible way to the needs of citizens, by providing better quality services and strengthening local development.

will use: 1) the resources and experiences of its members, and 2) the available funding instruments at National, EU and International level towards the development of partnerships at Local, National, EU and International level and the creation of opportunities for Sustainable Development in the following sectors: Social Reconstruction & Health, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Rural Economy, Tourism & Culture Development, Climate Change, Civil Protection & Infrastructure, City Branding.

Network is governed by the General Assembly (GA) and the Board Council (BC) and its organizational structure includes the following: Directorate General, Internal Audit Control Department, Legal Department, Financial Department, Procurement Department, Programming & Development Department, Technical Department, Communication & PR Department.

The main objective of City Network is to promote cooperation among its members  and other entities which are not members of the network, towards  the improvement of the physical, cultural, social environment and the level of people's welfare living in the wider boundaries of the municipalities involved. Towards this direction the Network designs and implements strategic partnerships with European and Greek Universities with the intention to improve the administration capacity of its members and the transfer of Knowledge to the sectors in which a municipality is active.
