About Me

We are a dedicated and interdisciplinary scientific group focused on the research of inorganic nanotubes and nanowires, particularly transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and metal oxides. Our team consists of senior researchers, post-doctoral fellows, and PhD students, all committed to advancing the understanding and application of these novel materials.

Our research activities span the synthesis, characterisation, and application of inorganic nanotubes and nanowires. These materials have demonstrated promising potential as lubricants, electron emitters, semiconductors for catalysis, and triboelectric devices. Our well-equipped laboratories enable us to perform thermal synthesis, gaseous plasma synthesis, and electrospinning for polymer mesh preparation. Furthermore, we have access to state-of-the-art characterisation tools, including electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), UV-VIS spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.

Currently, our primary project involves preparing TMDC nanomaterials for photocatalytic hydrogen production. This research aims to harness the unique properties of TMDCs for efficient and sustainable hydrogen production, a vital component of future clean energy solutions.
