ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Agricultural Youth Action for Development Agency (AYADA) is a Youth Christian non-profit organization working in South Sudan for many years focusing on improving poverty and social injustice to end violence through well-planned and comprehensive programmes in Food Security & climatic change, Access to Justice, Security & Human Rights, WASH & GBV, Education, Peace Building, Empowerment of women, youth and youth living with disabilities groups economically (vocational skills and start-up capitals). YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT

AYADA South Sudan was established in the year 2016 with the aims of improving poverty and social injustice to end violence through well-planned and comprehensive programmes in Food Security and climatic change, Access to Justice, Security and Human Rights, WASH & GBV, Education, Peace Building and Empowerment of young women, youth and youth with disabilities groups economically (vocational skills and start-up capitals).

LEGAL STATUS

Agricultural Youth Action for Development Agency-AYADA has been registered with Relief and Rehabilitation Commission [RRC] as National Non- Organization in South Sudan under Chapter 3, Section 10 of NGOs ACT, 2016.

AYADA South Sudan works in the Country to save live, fight poverty and achieve social justice to end Violence through well-planned and comprehensive programmes in Food Security & climatic change, Access to Justice, Security and Human Rights, WASH & GBV, Education, Peace Building, Empowerment of women, youth and youth living with disabilities groups economically (vocational skills and start-up capitals) in the community.

AYADA SOUTH SUDAN STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

The Key Strategic Priorities, these priorities were identified during the Board of Directors annual meetings held in April 2019 and November 2021 and through in-depth consultation with AYADA South Sudan program staffs in 2021 to determine AYADA’s strengths and core benefit in the program planning.

AYADA South Sudan engages her program staffs yearly to identify the emerging issues, this enable program staff to participate in decision making in order to achieve organization mission and goal. In AYADA South Sudan, we believe in teamwork, this in line with our core value because together each one of us does wonders and we achieve more.

  1. Food Security and Livelihood programmes, the Goal of Program is to enhance Food, Nutrition Security & Sustainable Livelihood for the Poor marginalized and people with the special needs in Bahr el Ghazal Region. 
  2. Youths and women empowerment programmes, the Goal of the program is to promote youths and women on technical skills, economically (vocational skills and start-up capitals) and capacity building on Community’s based-systems with relevant knowledge and skills in protection and conflict management for all.
  3. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Promotion Programmes, the Goal of Program is to increase Access to safe affordable and sufficient drinking cleaning water and enhance capacity of Water Users Management and Community Hygiene and Sanitation Practices for all.
  4. Gender Based Violent programmes (GBV), the Goal of Program is to promote community Resilience, through capacity building of Community’s based-systems, statutory and traditional legal/justice system, with relevant knowledge and skills in protection and elimination of all form of GBV for all.
  5. Education program, the Goal of Program is to enhance School facilities and capacity building of teachers to offer Quality, relevant, equitable education in safe and protective learning environment for all.
  6. Peace Building and Conflict Management program, the Goal of Program is to strengthen Community Peace Based Building Strategies to enhance sustainable peaceful co-existence and social mobility among the conflict-affected communities of Bahr el Ghazal Region.
  7. Emergency Preparedness and Recovery program, the Goal of Program is to response appropriately and timely in emergency humanitarian crisis to save lives of the affected population by any natural or man-made disaster with respect and dignity

AYADA SOUTH SUDAN’S STRATEGIC CROSS CUTTING ISSUES

While the strategic plan will focus on strategic priorities needs that were identified, the strategy plan will mainstream cross cutting issues into all programs for efficiency and effective management strategic plan.  Henceforth the follow cross cutting issues were identified during the strategic plan processes.

  1. Partnership & Networking, the Goal of Program is to strengthen Partnerships and Networking with UN Agencies, International Organization, International Community Donors, International Christian development organizations and churches to secures resources to implement projects and enhance sustainable development programmes in South Sudan.
  2. Organizational Capacity Development and Management, the Goal of Program is to strengthen organizational management, communication skills, financial management and reporting, human resources management, and program management to enhance sustainable Organizational Capacity
  3. Stakeholder’s Engagement and Management, the Goal of Program is to strengthen Project stakeholder’s involvement & complaint handling feedback mechanism in project planning and implementation to enhance project ownership and participation for sustainability and community development programmes
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation, the Goal of Program is to achieved High-quality project performing and Quality Assurance – quality control in timely mannerand effectiveness of the project identify for sustainability of the project's results

AYADA SOUTH SUDAN’S SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

AYADA South Sudan is cultivating more ideas to fight poverty and end violence among the community by accomplishes the following objectives:

  1. To provide skills development and livelihood programmes (Agric-business skills and income generating activities) with special attention to the youths and young women Groups.
  2. Provide solutions to hunger problems by distributing food and nutrition to vulnerable children and women.
  3. AYADA South Sudan to promote climate-smart agriculture (CSA) in South Sudan
  4. To provide equitable access to safe and clean drinking water for the affected population
  5. To provide sanitary pads for rural adolescents young Schools girls, women and also develop mediation programs on local level.
  6. To strengthen the capacity of Community Hygiene Promoter and Water User Committees
  7. To promote and support public health and hygiene promotion among the local communities.
  8. Training communities on family planning and GBV referral pathway.
  9. To create awareness, educate and prevent GBV & PSEA among the local communities.
  10. To promote inclusive education opportunities to every child in the rural areas, both boys and girls to have access to quality education without gender discrimination.
  11. Empowerment of young women, youth and youth with disabilities groups economically (vocational skills and start-up capitals).
  12. To restore human dignity and provides protection to all the vulnerable groups such as children, women, elderly, people with disabilities and internal displaced persons (IDPs).
  13. To promote resilient and recovery life to affected population in the Rural areas.
  14. To strengthening justice and security institutions, delivering equitable access to justice to the most vulnerable, increasing community security especially in conflicted areas and enhance national human rights awareness.  
  15. To support vulnerable groups to gain legal access to ownership of means of production, including land, capital and inheritance.
  16. To promote and support peaceful co-existence and social cohesion among the local communities.
  17. To provide Training skills for young women and youth with disabilities on technical, leadership skills and support youth institutions programmes.

AYADA SOUTH SUDAN'S CORE VALUES

AYADA works in partnership with communities, humanitarian and development organizations through a participatory, demand responsive, gender and poverty sensitive integrated development approach in the Bahr el Ghazal Region. AYADA interventions mainly focus on achievements in domains/program areas including Food Security & climatic change, Access to Justice, Security and Human Rights, WASH & GBV, Education, Peace Building, Empowerment of women, youth and youth living with disabilities groups economically (vocational skills and start-up capitals) in the community. We place communities at the centre of our activities, as we believe that only through strong communities the vulnerable segment can feed itself, educate, care for and protect its children, promote the economic wellbeing of people and live in peace. AYADA SOUTH SUDAN’S MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE SYSTEM

AYADA South Sudan is led by its Executive Director who is the formal head of the organization. 

The Executive Director reports to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors [BOD] of the organization and is responsible for the overall management of the organization.

The Executive Director is supported by the Program Manager and team of coordinators of different sectors and they jointly form the management structure of the organization.

Program Manager are in charge of overall management and implementation of the action according to programmatic framework; to prepare project reports as required by donor and other stakeholders and reports to the Executive Director.

Finance Manager are in charge and responsible for AYADA accounting and finance system, safeguard accountability and international standards, liaise with external auditors and donor and prepare financial reports to be submitted to donors.

 He/she will also provide quality assurance on the financial reports, design overall financial strategy, with emphasis on fundraising and sustainability of on-going projects in South Sudan.

  1. AYADA SOUTH SUDAN with funding from USAID called Shejeh Salam implemented support to Luo Customary Law Compilation and Dissemination in Jur River County 2022.
  2. AYADA South Sudan led a consortium with CSOs Alliance in Western Bahr el Ghazal State-Wau that aims to strengthening and make citizens aware of the national budget making process with support from ISPR 2022.
  3. Agricultural Youth Action for Development Agency-AYADA with supported from FAO is implemented women Active Farming Group-(WAFG) Project through distribution of agriculture inputs in Kapara, Ekana, Agur and Chono of Alur Payam.
  4. Agricultural Youth Action for Development Agency implemented Emergency WASH project in Mapel and Kuajiena Payams of Jur River County through repairing and rehabilitation broken hand pumps to improve access to safe clean drinking water.
  5. AYADA South Sudan implemented peace building with support from IOM through Inter- States Peace dialogue between Western Bahr El Ghazal-Wau and Warrap to promote peaceful coexistence in two States.
  6. AYADA South Sudan implemented Emergency distribution of Shelter/NFIs and WASH NFIs among the Internal Displace Persons (IDPs) during the conflict between farmers and cattle keepers in Jur River. Through supported from IOM through, AYADA distributed Shelter/NFIs and WASH NFIs to 1335 HH within individuals of 9345 beneficiaries in 5 Bomas of Mapel.
