Besides the normal administrative activities of the municipality of Montserrat, it has launched a series of initiatives, for all ages, and openness to Europe and strengthening European citizenship. Since the 70s this town became a territory plagued by second homes that gave the category of municipality Tourism second homes. This type of tourism is characterized by a marked seasonality.
