Junior Alpine Ski Racers
Club de Ski Valtournenche is a no profit organization from Aosta Valley (North West Italy) and wants to find partner to the following idea.
Young high level skiers (age 16-21) race at international level, Junior Races, in different European countries. Their life is almost totally dedicated to their favorite sport: they arrive in the afternoon just in time to sleep and the next day they race and just after the end they return home; even if they intensively travel, they really do not have the time and the chance to meet new friends, to learn languages and new habits. At home they train intensively and hard. They have very little time is left to attend a school, to learn a profession that can suit their future.
When they get older, mostly, they will work in the ski business as professional such as ski instructors or coach or they will work in tourism.
The aim of this project is to give them the opportunity to learn while they are training so, when they will reach university level, they will have more chance to pursue their studying careers while they are still racing in different country.
The action will focus on common meetings in different countries with common training under international trainers; there will be basic language lessons and it focused to create a small community of athletes.
The project fully complies with the recommendation of UE Sports Guidelines on Dual Careers of Athletes - Recommended Policy Actions in Support of Dual Careers in High-Performance Sport.
Approved by the EU Expert Group "Education & Training in Sport" at its meeting in Poznań on 28 September 2012.
The project will apply at the Erasmus+Sport call of 12 may 2016; The maximum size of the project is € 500.000,00; Erasmus will finance 80% of the sum.
The project must have at least 5 partners from 5 different countries and the time length is 3 years.
