The Work mentor Project has a simple goal. To provide work supervisors with greater understanding of vocational learning and mentoring skills to support young people in vocational education and training. This will improve the effectiveness, retention and achievement of on-the-job learning for Apprenticeships and wider placements.

Reason: The initiative for this project proposal was taken during the contact seminar “Work based learning Partnerships” which took place in October 2007 in Finland.The inventory taken at day 1 showed that in all 3 workshops there was an urgent need identified to develop a tool that would allow assessment of learning effects during placements or during work.
