Hamid is professor of Data Science and Intelligent Systems at Bournemouth University, UK. His research encompasses various topics of Artificial intelligence and Data Science, in particular, scalable machine learning and distributed artificial intelligence, scalable online, active, semi-supervised learning for data streams, scalable pattern recognition including deep learning and hierarchical (graphical) models, reasoning and decision making and big data technologies and high-performance computing for machine learning. He is interested in innovative applications such as ubiquitous health and medical applications, smart environments, industrial monitoring; smart energy; smart agriculture, and assistive technologies. He led and particpated in many EU projects (FP7, H2020 and Horizon Europe) covering topics in his area of expertise.
