Tadele Assefa Aragaw, born in 1989, has been a Researcher and Lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering, Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia since August 2018. He worked as a technical assistant (junior to the chief) at the institute under the Department of Chemical Engineering from July 2013 to July 2018. He received his MSc (in 2017) and BSc (in 2012) from Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University, and the University of Gondar, Ethiopia, respectively. His expertise includes emerging techniques for contaminant removal from wastewater (WW), synthesis, and characterization of materials for contaminant separation/degradation from WW, plastic, and micro/nano-plastics pollution and their impacts. His current research focuses on the development of novel biological treatment of textile industry wastewater using alkaliphilic microbial consortia and evaluating microbiomes from the treatment system. And plastic/microplastic pollution including personal protective equipment (PPEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic era. So far, he has published several scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals (journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and book series).
