About Me

My research applies concepts of adult learning and organization studies to address issues of power and privilege in relation to marginalized groups' (especially women's) experiences of leadership, emotion management, and organizational contexts. My practice includes designing and delivering leadership and organization development programs, facilitating executive meetings, consulting on organizational learning and change, and designing and implementing equality and diversity programs. I have worked with Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations and associations, educational institutions, healthcare companies, and more. My experience as a US Air Force officer, serving in local level personnel positions and as a Total Quality consultant on the Air Staff in the Pentagon, informed my interests in helping organizations strive towards ;

My current research has two core strands. One applies gender mainstreaming approaches to facilitate equity within organizations. The other explores how academic activism can deconstruct power in higher education organizations to create equity within and beyond ;

I currently lead the Equity Challenge Project at the Newcastle Business School & Northumbria School of Law. The project seeks to establish an equitable organizational culture regarding gender, sexuality, race, and disability by applying a mainstreaming framework.
