About Me

I lead the Sustainable Energy Engineering Research Group (SEERG), situated in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, UNN, which is a vibrant research group in the University investigating the solar energy resource in Nigeria, the performance of solar PV systems, and the development and performance of solar thermal systems. It undertakes CFD studies, thermodynamic analysis of thermal storage systems and power generation systems, assessment of GHG-impacts of energy transformation processes, etc.

Present studies being undertaken by the SEERG are focused on infrared thermal imaging analysis of solar PV modules, thermal storage devices, mobile devices, and thermal systems generally, to identify thermal characteristics that may not be readily determined using traditional methods; development of novel hybrid solar thermal devices (including PV/thermal, solar thermoelectric generators, PV/TEG/thermal, etc.); and the application of phase change thermal storage materials in buildings, etc. The ultimate goal of SEERG is to develop techniques and tools that will contribute to the sustainable utilization of energy resources.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) established in October 1960, is the first full-fledged university in Nigeria, a first-choice university, and one of the most globally visible universities within the West and Central Africa regions. Her programs are tailored to make the university a center of excellence for higher education and her graduates globally competitive. The university has 15 academic faculties (Arts, Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law, Medical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Vocational Education.) and 102 academic departments spread over four campuses and offers 82 undergraduate programs and 211 postgraduate programs.
