The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly (UTH) was founded in 1985, and it It has been the first faculty established since the opening of the School of Health Sciences at UTH. The clinic units are located at the University Hospital of Larissa / 5th Regional Health Authority (), which has 643 beds and five (5) sectors, including pathology, psychiatry, neurology and social medicine. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly and its University Hospital Department, has steadily participate in pilot and large scale e-health regional services and national and international projects, in local partnerships of municipal entities, hospitals, SMEs, patients' organisations and research institutions on local, national and international level.
