About Me

Framsýn-UNG is an icelandic youth wing of the local union in the Húsavík region (Northeast Iceland). The youth wing's purpose is to promote knowledge and understanding of rights among young workers in a rapidly growing economy where youth participation in the workforce is the norm. As part of our agenda we work with our parent organisation as well as national organisations towards the goal of ensuring that the rights and dignity of young workers are respected and fought for.

The organisation has several hundred members who come from a diverse range of industries ranging from tourism, public administration, service, health care, youth work, agriculture, fishing, office work, construction and transportation to name a few.

Framsýn-UNG area of operation consists of one small but charming urban area and a large surrounding rural area with several coastal villages. Rural development is one of our key issues.
