About Me

Davi T. Junghans is a research scientist at Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation), at Cassava & Fruits research unit, since 1998. He received his B.S in Agronomy in 1990, a master's degree in Agricultural Microbiology (1994) and a B.Sc. in Plant Pathology in 2000, all from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). He has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis on Genetic Improvement and Phytopathology of pineapple (Ananas comosus var. comosus).
His work is focused on the development of new pineapple cultivars, with genetic resistance to fusariosis (Fusarium guttiforme) and with fruit qualities superior to traditional cultivars, that allow exports to more demanding markets.
