Underwater noise mapping

The idea is to develop best practises to develop strategic underwater noise maps that contribute to define the environmental status of our seas in terms of noise pollution, as required by the Marine Estrategy Framework Directive, and predict the impact of human activities, as needed in environmental impact assessments. Such prediction is difficult specially in shallow waters, and require both measurements and model predictions.
