„ZS6 European guarantee of students and teachers’ success ” project will be realised in School Complex no 6 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. It is a very popular institution; it’s attended by 952 students divided into 33 classes. 74 teachers make up the whole teaching staff. Students’ exam results, especially school-leaving exams, are much better than the national average; there are, though, different levels of students’ knowledge acquisition, even within one class. Three foreign languages are taught at school: French, English and German. Groups are made up of 13-18 students and are divided according to the level of the language’s level. Despite of the fact that the teachers strive to keep up an equal level, it is hard to maintain the same high level of motivation and interest in the lesson’s topic. The school’s development plan aims to: 1. Improve management of international cooperation 2. Raise language, methodical and didactic competencies of the teaching staff 3. Enrich ZSno6 educational offer 4. Enhance the school’s European dimension 5. Promote the concept of lifelong learning 6. Strengthen young people’s potential as well as their active participation in society’s life All the long-term tasks are meant to influence the improvement of teaching quality and the schooling system. 13 teachers will participate in the project; just to name a few: the headmaster (chemistry), vice headmasters (mathematics, vocational subjects), English and French teachers, PE teacher. Training needs of the group can be classified according to: 1. Improvement in managing an educational institution 2. Improvement in coordination of international activities 3. Introduction of innovative ideas and solutions into ZSno6 education system; gathering information on European schooling systems; exchange of working solutions 4. Gaining competencies for the introduction of content and language integrated learning 5. Improvement in cultural competencies, including social aspects 6. Increasing teachers’ mobility 7. Improvement in methodical workshop with special emphasis put on new technologies in the teaching process 8. Improving language skills, including technical language 9. Starting cooperation with representatives of foreign institutions 10. Acquiring more knowledge on eTwinning as well as making using the platform more popular The project will focus on the following main activities: 1. Organisational and preparatory activities, content-related, logistic and administrative support 2. Promotion of EU educational programmes aimed at students and teachers (Erasmus+, Youth Guarantees, The OP Knowledge, Education, Development) 3. Internal evaluation, making a research among school society on the topic of the necessity of participating in international enterprises 4. Including topics on European countries in the content of lessons 5. Spreading information on EUROPASS among students, teachers and parents 6. Using eTwinning platform more extensively 7. Regular evaluation of the project’s activities as well as preparing teachers to trips abroad 8. Attending courses abroad 9. Organizing open lessons for all teachers in ZSno6 after returning from an exchange 10. Making the project’s results wide-known among teachers from our region 11. Spreading knowledge on Erasmus+ and the initiative in the media 12. Project’s internal evaluation as well as a report for the National Agency Thanks to carrying out all the planned activities we expect to get the following long-term benefits: 1. Improving the quality of education at school, development of teaching and learning processes among teachers and students 2. Increasing teachers and students’ mobility 3. More frequent usage of EU possibilities (tools, certificates, programmes) 4. Improving language competencies among teachers and students which will in consequence result in boosting their confidence, reducing complexes, which will then lead to greater openness in the school’s society; technical language is also crucial here; it has a significant influence on our school participating in numerous innovation fairs 5. Improving methodical competencies among teachers 6. Increasing implementation of new technologies in the lessons and extra-curricular activities, learning about technological innovations, also connected with the latest software 7. Increasing students’ knowledge on European countries and using the knowledge during lessons 8. Shaping the right attitudes in students and teachers, evoking creativity, reducing occupational burnout
