Sixty students are going to participate in the programme. They learn three professions: agricultural, nutritional and of renewable energy sources (RES) in Agricultural Technical College in Jabłoń. Our students come from agricultural backgrounds, they live in agricultural villages. Most of them plan to finish school and take over their parents’ farms with the intention of expanding and innovating them. Graduates from gastronomic courses count on employment in the emerging restaurants or hotels, while graduates from RES courses stand the chance of setting up their own businesses in this sector. Increasing interest in modern farming, a rather small number of companies in the sector of RES along with the rapid grow in closely related tourist and gastronomy sectors in the immediate region make an important reason for the application for the programme. The programme’s theme and agenda were consulted with teachers of vocational subjects. What is more, they also match our students’ interests and passions. The key programme’s goals are: improving the participants’ knowledge and skills in the agricultural and gastronomic field and gaining experience in installation and operation of modern RSE devices and systems;, enhancing the attractiveness of vocational education, the development of foreign language skills and of the ability to adapt to the specific working conditions in the culturally different setting, improving job prospects. In the initial stage of the programme (2016/2017 school year) students will get pedagogical, cultural and language training. The planned work placement is going to take place in the training company EUROPROYECTOS ERASMUSPLUS in Spain, in January and February 2017. The students, divided into the groups of 15, will make work placements on farms and companies dealing with the processing of olives (agricultural classes), companies offering services in the field of solar energy and operating in RES sector (RES classes) and five restaurants in Granada (gastronomic classes). The expected results are: learning about new constructional and technological solutions used in RSE systems, learning rules and skills in operating and maintaining of modern farming equipment, revising the ability to safely operate machines and equipment, noticing the influence of RSE technology on the environment, learning the rules related to hotel or restaurant management in another European Union member country, getting familiar with education system, working conditions and equipment used in vocational subjects classrooms in Spanish schools, learning basic Spanish and specialized vocabulary, development of social skills. As a result of the programme, local employers will get experienced professionals whose skills will contribute to the development of local companies, while students’ parents, who manage family farms, will be able to hand them over to qualified and competent successors. Skills acquired during the work placement will contribute to the development of the region. The trainees will share their new knowledge with their schoolmates and in their local environment. This in turn, will translate in the improved management of the local farms and companies and, in general, will contribute to the development of agricultural, gastronomic and RES sectors. The results of the project will be announced in the school (Erasmus+ Day) and local environment (presentation of programme during festivities at regional level, for example: harvest festival 2017) so that the training period could be a source of knowledge also for others. Accounts of the realization of the programme will be publicised by local media. Another benefit for the school will be the establishment of cooperation with Spanish schools which teach the same or similar professions.
