Zmorem!
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Primary school Osnovna šola Pod goro Slovenske Konjice also performs a programme of the lower educational standard and a special programme of education besides regular primary school programme. In these programmes we educate children and adolescents with special deficits and disorders such as hyperactivity, disorders of autistic spectrum, mental development disorders, visually impaired children, children with speech and language disorders, children with movement limits, children with deficits on the individual fields of learning, children with autistic disorders and children with emotional and behavioural disorders. Because of the inclusion principle many children with previously described difficulties are included into our regular educational programmes. In the project Connected in differentness, which is still being carried out, we have prepared mobility for our professional workers to acquire methods and principles which have been proved as excellent and have been used by visited institutions in their educational programmes for many years. We have also met some excellent partners in the international area and we would like to strengthen the relationship with them and establish permanent cooperation, seminars and mobility which would help the participants to develop linguistic, cultural, ICT, and most importantly professional competence. Our aim is to establish a centre for children with special deficits in different areas where our professional workers would use modern and tested methods for the improvement of the lives of people with special needs, their families and their environment and also of people with different sensor disorders. The first step, which has already been accomplished, especially within the project Connected in differentness was the building of a special sensory room – Snoezelen, which is already being actively used by our professional workers who participated the mobility in Slovakia. In this room our professional workers work with children on a daily basis and they can also pass on the knowledge to their co-workers.The use of this room has been widened to our central school where a regular primary school programme is performed with a growing number of learners with different disorders and limits especially due to inclusion. One of the main aims of this project is the upgrade of acquired knowledge in the area of the newest method called “sensor integration”, which is described in detail in the following part of our application. We would like to qualify some of our professional workers at our central school and both subsidiary schools. One of our aims is also the acquisition of the examples of good practice in the inclusion field. We would like to qualify some of our professional workers from each subsidiary school for the leadership of the project and cross-cultural networking which is the second main project aim. Those professional workers in the subsidiaries would, according to the aims of the school, take care of the international cooperation and projects at their level. They would be in coordination with the project group which has been established for the project “The knowledge connects us” in the central school. We would be very interested in deepening a long term collaboration which would provide us an excellent basis of knowledge and opportunities for our workers’ professional improvement and consequently for our entire local and wider community. Through the project we would like to accomplish the following aims:- to get to know the newest learning methods and principles in educating children with different limitations and/or disorders,- to get to know some new tools for educating, - to improve the organisational skills in education, - to get to know the newest learning methods and inclusion principles,- to acquire some new knowledge about learning programmes in foreign countries, - to improve cultural, linguistic and ICT competence of our professional workers,- to internationalize and increase the European dimension of our school in the entire vertical, with special emphasis on the subsidiaries, where the activities are not equal to those in the central school, with the participation of the professional workers form subsidiaries in the seminar about project management and cross cultural knowledge,- to extend cross cultural knowledge with the aim of mitigating work with potential learners – migrants,- to deepen cooperation with our partners,- to gain some new knowledge about the school programmes in foreign countries,- to improve life quality for children with different limitations and /or disorders and children without any developmental disorders, their families and wider community,- to increase the employability of children with different limitations and/or disorders and children with no developmental limitation,- to improve recognisability of our institution in the local, wider and international area.
