Живи идеи за по-добър живот (Vital Ideas for a Better Life)
Start date: Oct 1, 2014, End date: Jan 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The EVS project Living Ideas for a Better Life of Idea Vita Foundation was held with the participation of two volunteers - David Le Page from France and Lea Evers from Germany. They were integrated in many of the activities of the foundation with a general purpose to collect and disseminate information and practices for healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle. David Le Page spent 12 months from January 2015 to January 2016 as a European volunteer of the foundation, while Lea Evers decided to terminate earlier her volunteering end of April 2015 because of fundamental differences in the understanding of a healthy lifestyle. The project aimed to integrate young people from other European countries in the activities of Idea Vita Foundation, to spread the accumulated ideas for a healthy lifestyle inside and outside of Bulgaria, and to implement cultural exchange between Bulgarians visiting the foundation and volunteers, leading to a mutual enrichment. The main activities which were carried out by volunteers are organizing events and meetings, preparation of information printed and electronic materials, welcoming guests in Idea Vita centre, support innovative healthy cuisine and experimental natural garden, organizing the library with books from around the world presenting ideas in the field of physical and mental health, as well as participation in the activities of the foundation. Volunteers prepared a website presenting the foundation's activities and a number of brochures and materials that the organization uses. The results of the project are miscellaneous. We enriched each other with ideas and practices from Bulgarian side learned by volunteers for the French and German traditions in a healthy lifestyle. We faced also the challenge to combine different ideas in our activities. We achieved a good cooperation with the volunteer from France, but we couldn't harmonize our ideas with the representative of Germany and after several attempts to find a solution, we took a decision to end the project in advance. Both volunteers expressed their desire to remain after the end of their voluntary service some time in Bulgaria to enrich their knowledge of local culture and language. We hope to achieve more results in a long term by keeping the contact with the volunteer from France and we hope that more French people will be interested in the idea of a healthy lifestyle. We will continue exchanges with David Le Page in innovative healthy cooking solutions in which the volunteer good skills and creativity.
