There are two organisations which are involved into the project - Secondary School of Business and Administration in Olomouc - it is the sending school and the partner organisation is Techniki Scholi Lefkosias 2 located in Nicosia in Cyprus. Both named institutions have been cooperating for 7 years and they have got many experiences with international interships not only in the programme Erasmus + but also in previous programmes - Leonardo da Vinci, Commenius etc. The project is created for 14 students -cooks and waiters who will be working in hotels and restaurants in Larnaca such as Sun Hall, Amorgos and Takis Kebab Tavern. The intership is planned for 3 weeks. The target of the project is to gain working experiences abroad, to acquire new technological methods, to pass learning outcomes ECVET - the project is focused on these outcomes. Students will be preparing traditional meals of Cyprus cuisine, the will learn new recipes, also herbs and spices which are not used in our cuisine very often. The aim of the project is to spread healthy mediterranean cuisine into our region, we do not focus just on traditional mediterranean cuisine but students will learn how to process raws such as sesame or cheakpeas, they will prepare paté tahini, hummus, they will learn how to use yogurt in desserts and other meals. Professional activities are parts of school curricula, that means that some recipes will be implemented into educational plans in the subject World cuisine. The cooks will prepare fish and seafood (especially calamari, scampi and prawns) which are parts of assessment of ECVET. The waiters will serve customers in foreign language environment, where there will be huge expectations for them to communicate with guests. They will learn how to mix drinks from local alcoholic and soft drinks and how to prepare desserts from fresh fruits, especially from figs.As we have just said the project is based on ECVET, that means we have pepared outcomes for cooks and waiters, all students have to pass their outcomes or units. There is plenty of time to make it. We have also prepared documents for each student where you can find description of units a and ways of evaluation, students will know these aspects before the intership. Students are evaluated by points and after the points are changed into marks and these marks will be a part of students´ evaluation of the 1st term 2016/17 in practical training and in vocational subjects.Not only practical training is prepared for students but there are also many other activities we have planned for them, we devote time to arrange spending of their free time, so we would like to visit not only our partner school and the capital city Nicosia but also for example olive farm where students can see how olives are processed, the ways of using them in food and cosmetic industries. Teachers also plan sports activities for students.The project is in accordance with the aims and requirements of our school named above - it supports not only professional skills but develops psychosocial and personal competences. We would like to show students how to live in cooperation of various kinds of culture, the project supports how to be tolerant to other people from different countries and fights against rasism and xenofoby. There are also speaking skills in English language which are important, students improve their knowledge because they will have to communicate with guests. Many tourists come to Cyprus every year to have holiday there, many of them are English native speakers.Our school gains better position in Olomouc region thanks to the programme Erasmus +, we have better conditions for setting students and finding new places where our students can have their practical lessons. . Also Regional Department of Olomouc region supports these activitivities which enrich all. Teachers, school management, students and their parents, also our school partners find positive effect of the intership not only in climate of school but mainly in effective ways of learning by informal way when students can join pleasant with useful.We have been working on the project from autumn 2015 when we started to communicate with partner school about the conditions of the intership, working activities , ECVET and we decided to plan the project for 1 year. We very appreciate our colleguaes from Cyprus school because they help us, support students, they cooperate with Czech teachers without any problems and we know that we can rely on principle and coordinator in every situation. Because of these aspects we do not need any other intermediary oraganisation and this is our advantage as well.Our partner is also creating project nowdays, students will come to Olomouc school in spring 2017. The projects are evaluated by both organisations very well, we can see results in educational process, students and teachers improve their professional knowledge and project supports their personal competences named above.
