Start date: Nov 21, 2016, End date: Jun 20, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Gain experience–achieve success–apprenticeship training for technical college students in Sopot to be held in Ireland – such is the title of the project that the school wants to carry out together with Your International Training organisation. The host organisation is YIT, which cooperates with IT companies and hotels where students are to do their apprenticeship training. The beneficiaries will be third year students of technical college. The first group of 15 students are scheduled to leave for Ireland together with one teacher in October 2016. Another group again consisits of 15 students and one teacher. Their mobility is planned for October 2017. The dates have been agreed upon with the partner and booked, which the partner informs about in a letter of intent..The first reason to participate in the project is to accomplish the goal of our school - to prepare our students for mobility and flexible functioning on the rapidly changing job market. Doing the internship in Ireland will definitely help to widen the scope of cooperation between the school and employers.Another reason to organise apprenticeship training abroad is to provide students with the opportunity to gain a better starting position on the job market. Moreover, they will have a chance to learn practical skills in an authentic work environment as well as improve their language and interpersonal skills. The knowledge, vocational skills and social skills developed during students' education in technical college are honed during apprenticeship training in companies. The third reason to take part in the project is to equalise educational chances, which gives the opportunity for further education to people of diverse standards of living. The aims of the project:- to improve students' vocational skills during the internship program in Irish IT companies and hotels. Students will use equipment, materials and technologies which are unavailable in their school and which help to get a better understanding of how tourist, hotel and ITC industries operate- to give students a chance to gain experience and increase their practical knowledge in accordance with the standards of vocational education and demands on the job market- to encourage students who participate in the project to broaden their knowledge of cultural, historical and mental heritage of other European nationalities and cultures- to increase personal, social and cultural skills by activation, improving communication skills, promoting creativity and cooperation- to extend students' knowledge of vocational English by using it in an authentic life and work environment- to boost students' self-esteem by overcoming barriers and diffidence. Further education for such students may mean future success in their professional career, the opportunity to run their own company in a professional way as well as a feeling of fulfillment in their local social life- to place on the local job market well-prepared employees – school-leavers who are familiar with modern technologies and materials used in companies and hotels abroad- to increase the quality and importance of vocational training by improving students' professional competence and by implementing into local IT, hotel and tourist companies new and efficient technological solutions that students got familiar with during the internship. The expected improvement in social, interpersonal, language, communication and cooperation skills cannot be overestimated. Such a level of skills would be very difficult for students to achieve during vocational apprenticeship their home country.Participation in the project will motivate students to enhance their qualifications, invest in their self-development, plan consciously their education and career which would be adjusted to the European job market. At the same time, it will boost students' mobility, which will promote self-education, openness to new ITC technologies and methods of managing in tourist services. Being familiar with how European hotels operate on different levels – reception, housekeeping, gastronomy and other additional services will later help students to use this knowledge in their professional work both in Poland and abroad.Evaluation will be carried out at every stage of the project as well as at the end of it. The consecutive stages will be presented in social media, on the school's website and in a local newsletter. All the information will also be passed on to the institutions supervising the school. During the process of school promotion and enrolment, prospective new students will be informed about the project and about the opportunity to develop mobility by the participants of the internship program in Ireland. We hope that the expected aims of the project will be achieved and students will master the key competences, including the ability to use theoretical knowledge gained at school in the structure of the European job market.30 students will get the Europass Mobility.
