ZAKAJ NAS JE STRAH NEPOZNANEGA (v ang: Why we are scared of unknown? )
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Mar 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The students of the High school Piran have expressed their wish to learn about the successful integration of different cultures into various European local communities. They believe they have found a suitable partner with a direct and practical experience, namely the organization called BURGOS ACOGE from Burgos in Spain. The main working method during the students' mobility will be based on experiental learning methods of observation, reflection and testing. The students would like to meet (observe) and interact with a group of successfully integrated migrants from Burgos and try out the knowledge and skills (e.g. using their own initiative) they learnt during their mobility in their home environment. Twenty young people from Piran (i.e. 10 boys and 10 girls) and 12 young people from Burgos will take part in the mobility.By participating in the project the students wish to develop the skills for lifelong learning, which will be recorded with the help of the system tools Nefiks (for the Slovenian students) and also with the help of Youthpass. The aim of the project is to break racial and cultural stereotypes and to promote tolerance in a local social environment by raising awareness within the local community of their fears and prejudice, especially among primary and high school students as well as children in the kindergarten. The long term effect of the project should be greater tolerance towards migrants and the awareness and acceptance of the multicultural society we live in.
