The project Foreign internship as a part of a successful professional career was covered by the Secondary vocational school of hotel services and business as an educational institution that provides secondary education focused on services, business, hospitality, gastronomy and tourism. All the key persons who were involved in the project have long-time experience in the field of theoretical and practical study, and actively cooperate with professional organizations and institutions of that focus. The partner in the project was the ADC College, the institution that operates in the Northwest London and is aimed at vocational and language training. This organization is accredited by the British Council, and for many years has been engaged in international mobility projects in partnerships with educational organizations across Europe, has promoted partnerships and cooperation between schools and enterprises in the professional field, it focuses on the promotion of European values and ideas. After the change agreed with the National Agency, Mário Jan?ík in Prague, The Czech Republic became the other partner in the project. The main objective of the project was: ? verifying of existing professional skills and knowledge, ? acquisition of new professional skills and competences, ? comparison and specification of differences in Slovak, English and Czech working environment in real businesses Specific objective: ? verifying and improving language competences in the general and professional English. The participants of the project: ? 8 students of the field of hotel academy (4th-5th grade, focused on gastronomy and hotel industry) ? 12 students of the fields of business academy and management of the regional tourism (3rd-4th grade, focused on administrative work, correspondence, writing on the PC, accounting) ? 2 accompanying persons for the mobility of London Project activities: ? communication with the ADC College London and company in the Czech Republic with a view to a detailed scope of the term of the mobility and jobs, where the students will be placed during the internship, with details of their jobs in specific workplaces, as well as their accommodation and traveling to work ? selection of project participants according to pre-defined and publicly known criteria ? preparation of relevant project documents ? preparation of students, meetings with the key persons of the project, language and cultural training ? transport to London and the Czech Republic In London and Prague project participants have completed professional training in the workplace according to their field of study. They had the opportunity to use the knowledge and skills acquired in school environment in real enterprises, where they have become a part of the ordinary working process. The work of our students has been evaluated very positively by the employers. The work program was supplemented by joint activities at the weekends, when they had the opportunity to visit famous and less-known sights and attractions of London and Prague. Finally, the project participants received certificates of participation in the professional training. After completing the internships students made a final report about the mobility and prepared their own presentations evaluating the benefits of the internship abroad for their professional skills and professional growth. During the Open Day they presented the project to those interested in studying at Secondary Vocational School of Hotel Services and Business in Zvolen. The project results were presented through the information panel, the school web site, the school magazine, in the regional press. All project participants have obtained European Europass Mobility document recording the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship abroad in Great Britain and the Czech Republic .This document can become for them a useful tool in job searching and employability in the labor market. At the same time, the acquired experience allows them to engage in various professional competitions, school conferences and school presentations at local, regional, national and international levels. The project Foreign internship as a part of a successful professional career has met its targets. Its successful implementation will increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of our school between other schools of similar specialization in the region; it contributed to the development of European cooperation and establishment of contacts for further cooperation in organizing foreign internships for students of our school.
