Zaawansowane Umiejętności Projektowania w AutoCAD 2
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The training was planned as a part of our compulsory internship programme for students of Śląskie Techniczne Zakłady Naukowe in Katowice. The main objective of ZUPA 2 project was to support talented students of our school who, as a result of acquiring new qualifications shall contribute to growth of competences of middle and higher level of engineering professionals in the Upper Silesia and European Union. We took up affirmative action to enroll 20% of the participants coming from disadvantaged groups. Taking part in the training should help them find a job related to their professional education and interests. From interviews and questionnaires, we ask our graduates to fill in, we have learnt that students from disadvantaged groups often drop school or do not start their university studies, often taking up jobs irrelevant to their qualifications and education. In their case the key factor is the necessity of finding a job as quickly as possible, which results in taking the first position available, no matter if it meets their expectations or not. The internship curriculum was consulted with our receiving partner WBS TRAINING –one of the biggest non-public German educational companies. The programme was tailored to meet the needs of local job market. WBS TRAINING was also supporting the process of issuing certificates (Europass). The students have gathered new experience, skills and qualifications on the basis of the knowledge they had already had. The mobility also improved their personal development, self esteem and self-confidence, as well as their ability of establishing international contacts. The students also had an opportunity of learning different culture and improving of their language skills, including language for special purposes. The training have created for the participants the ability of learning tools useful for technicians and engineers and improved their adaptational skills making them sensitive to cultural differences. 20 students of our school of the third grade took part in the project. The training was organised at the turn of February and March 2016. The group was supervised by 2 teachers from our school who were also responsible for monitoring standards of the course. The group was staying at a Dresden youth hostel for all the course period. Before going to the course the students had taken part in training sessions in languages and psychology preparing them for the trip. The training will comprise ESP and GSP vocabulary and the workshops with guidance counselor. The classes were organised before leaving to the course in from November 2015 to February 2016. During the training the students learnt about technical and assembly drawing and using and functions of AutoCAD programs We hope that after taking part in the internship project our students, when they graduate, will find jobs more easily. Having permanent position at a company they will be able to pay their extramural studies and catch up with those who have decided to get to the university immediately after graduating from our school.
