The project “Frames of Happiness” is a Training - Seminar that was realized in Vadul lui Voda, Moldova between 26th August to 4th of September. The aim of the project was to promote the young orphans’ social inclusion and well-being, through tackling the issue of youth exclusion and discrimination. It joined 32 youth workers coming from EU: Norway, Latvia, Romania, Spain and EECA: Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia that work with disadvantaged young people coming from orphanages, to discover and explore the digital tools of photography and videography which helped them to raise awareness in a more professional way about the exclusion of young people in their local society and engaged more people interested in solving this painful problem. The project targeted on the improvement of youth workers that are interested to raise the awareness about the problem of the excluded orphan children and to start changing the people’s mind from exclusion to their inclusion in the society. This project was dedicated to the youth workers, volunteers that organize activities, initiatives or take part in organizations that involve children from orphanages and would like to learn new ways of promoting the idea of inclusion of young people, using the tools of photo and video activities. Through the art of photography and video, the participants made creative ideas that express their personal opinions and thoughts using pictures and films made during the whole duration of the project. Also we had special days for visiting the orphanages and children houses, where participants spent a day playing with them, talking, asking about their problems and feelings, finding out what does it mean to be excluded from the society. All activities of the project included a variety of non-formal and informal methods to generate learning of participants. Trainers created a friendly space for participants to reflect on their learning and encouraged active participation, creativity and initiative. The program of activities was planned in advance and it consists of a variety of elements and methods: name games, team – building games, presentations of NGOs and experiences in the field of child exclusion; study visits in different orphanages of Moldova; technical sessions on photo and video activities. Qualified trainers organized interactive master-classes for participants about filming, cropping, use of aperture, white balance, ISO etc. They learned basics skills in graphics editing programs. Theoretical information received was combined with practical exercises outside the training room. They also discovered the use of social media as a tool of promoting social issues and disseminating the results of their work. Participants realized: - a practical tool in form of an online guide that contain relevant methods and tools explored during the project; - 5 video materials that promote the inclusion of orphans in the society and try to sensitize the public opinion about the existing problem of excluded orphan children. The films were screened during an exhibition in the last day of the project - a public event where were invited NGO representatives, public sector, municipality, TV channels and radio, volunteers and interested persons in discussing the topic of exclusion and discrimination of orphan people. At the event were present more than 40 people. From the Media, was present a TV channel that made a report about the project.
