Youth work for equal opportunities
Start date: Dec 1, 2011,

The project “Youth Work for equal opportunities" is a unique volunteering experience build upon the links between youth policy, research and young people in order to provide equal opportunities to local young people living in marginalized areas near Kumanovo. The partner organizations and volunteers together aim to explore youth work development on local level which was the starting point of developing this project. The promoters will focus more specifically on the following aspects:• To engage local youth in a diverse range of activities, such as the provision of education and youth work services that will support the local inclusion of different youth groups in the hosting countries. In this regards the project contributes to a cohesive society creating bonds of trust and solidarity and, thus, social capital.• To provide space for linking of the youth work with local youth policies and research with the hosting organization especially working in rural areas in Proevce and Lipkovo and marginalized areas of Kumanovo.• To improve the local intercultural dialogue and share best practices between the partner organizations. The project will offer space for 2 long term volunteers ( UK and Estonia) to volunteer in Macedonia for 9 months. The EVS project also aims to promote bigger innovation and inclusion in local youth work projects. The local youth work activities will engage young people with fewer opportunities in a diverse range of activities, such as the provision of education and services, community and environmental action that will support their social inclusion and integration. There are two types of activities where the volunteers will be involved such as running workshops for local young people using artistic tools such as paining, acting and other tools that can be useful for group learning ; and providing youth information linked with the local community development.
