Youth Summit Copenhagen 2012 - Come together!
Start date: May 1, 2012,

18th-21st September 2012 will be the days for 120 young people to meet other young people and decision-makers from around Europe under the headline Come together! The theme of the seminar will be community and inclusion – in groups, schools, across borders and regions. Through a variety of informal and non-formal workshops the goal is to strengthen the students’ consciousness of the many communities they are part of and the many possibilities that lie in acting together. The participants are between 15 and 30 years of age and have a background with social exclusion from both society in general and education in particular. Many have experienced economic difficulties, learning disabilities, drug abuse, shattered families, long term unemployment and no, or limited access to, success in the educational system. Many of the youngsters also live in socially and economically challenged areas of their home towns. However many of them have great potential and are often very creative, but need support to develop skills and tools to direct their lives in a good direction. In September these young people get to Come together! in Copenhagen. Maybe this will even be the first time they are outside their home towns. They will meet other youth, politicians, leaders and decision-makers in an informal setting, creating dialogue about communities and working in workshops about how working together can make a difference. Furthermore they will learn about good examples of youth taking part, influencing and being part of democratic processes. Thereby we hope to inspire the youth and strengthen their self-awareness and provide them with tools to change their own every-day lives and the communities they are part of in a positive direction.
