Youth's Picture
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project “Youth Picture” is promoted by “Le relais verlaine” a Belgian youth organization. The project is structured around the image of young Europeans. There are 3 objectives in this project: 1. Enhance the image of young people by developing self-esteem and self-confidence. 2. Move away from stereotypes young people can have about their peers, other cultures, other ways of life by promoting cultural diversity and give them a sense of belonging to the European Union. 3. Move away from the stereotypes society can have about youth that hinder them in their social awareness and empower them by enhancing their image, their ability, and their involvement in a project. These 3 areas will be worked on through workshops, cultural outings, moments of exchange and conviviality. In this youth exchange, young people will gain personal enrichment, learn to be open to others and gain new skills. The project will enhance a positive image of young people, their independence and their sense of social entrepreneurship in the daily life. We want to help youngsters to take positive decisions and make significant actions for their future. 45 young people aged between 13 and 18 from 4 different countries will participate to this exchange. We will use non formal education and principles as working method to reach learning objectives. Young people will be the central pieces of our preoccupation and we will consider their needs and their demands, as well as possible. Several tools will be used (or created) in order to communicate and to assess the learning outcomes.
