Youth for Intergenerational Solidarity

The seminar will take place from 9th until 14th October 2011 in Rezekne, Latvia. It will be organized by the “World at Our Home” which will host 49 participants from 26 organizations both European and neighbouring countries. Participants will come from Armenia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and Latvia. The main aim of the seminar is to promote intergenerational solidarity and active ageing on a local and European level, to spread information about EVS project among young people and organisations in Europe and neighbouring countries and to connect the young people with the elderly people in the community on both a local and European level.The tasks of the project are to improve and develop cooperation and communication between organisations working with EVS, to provide an exchange of experience between organisations and discuss the realisation of projects and how they can be related to encouraging active ageing and intergenerational solidarity; to improve the exchange of information and opinions between young people who are interested in the EVS programme; to create new contacts and links between European organisations and to discuss the opportunity for the long-term future cooperation and promote partnerships in Eastern Europe with neighbouring partner countries.
