In the modern world Sustainable Development is often an over-used word, but goes to the heart of tackling a number of interrelated global issues such as poverty, inequality, hunger and environmental degradation.Young people from all over the world are interested and involved in the process of sustainable development principles implementation to achieve the main its goal “to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.National Youth Center “Environmental Initiatives” together with partners from Ukraine and abroad has developed idea of youth exchange under the theme “Youth Experience for Sustainable Development”.Within this project three Ukrainian organizations will bring together their resources and abilities to host participants from Hungary, Moldova and Turkey.Team of each country will be represented with 6-7 persons and group leader interested and experienced in field of social and environmental activity. Countries participating in project will illustrate outstanding achievements of youth from European Union, candidate country for accession to the EU and countries of the Eastern Partnership.Brainstorms, seminars, workshops and informal meetings will be held in Kiev for one week in July 2012 to insure opportunities for each participant to get together and talk about their view on development of mankind, about the role that environment plays in their life and get a possibility to share experience to understand how social, economic and environmental issues are interrelated.Different methods of non-formal education will be applied to achieve the objectives of project among which are :- stimulation the dialogue about issues of common interest namely sustainable development that covers human rights, cultural integration, tolerance, right to live in clean environment, access to education, civic liberties, etc.;- exchange of ideas and experiences;- participation of youth in decision making process.
