The "YOUTH EMPOWERMENT" project is conceived as an action youth apprenticeship through a youth exchange between young people from Santurce (Vizcaya, Spain) and the region of Attica (Greece). The project lasts 10 months and has different phases among which is the preparation of the interchange, execution, evaluation and dissemination of experience. Specifically, 18 youth boys and girls from Santurtzi, 18 to 21, accompanied by three leaders / social workers, will travel for 6 days (8 to 13 April 2015) to the city of Athenas (Greece) to meet another group of 18 young people from the region of Attica (Greece), also accompanied by 2 leaders, and share different experiences. Most of the participants have learning difficulties, socio-economic, employment. The central theme is youth empowerment, and different materials such as employment and training, housing, mature interpersonal relationships, citizen participation, urban mobility, leisure not of consumption, equal opportunities for men and addressed women, and others that concern them. Also knowledge of the reality of Europe, the European Union, its institutions, and adherence to the sense of European citizenship will be addressed. The methodology of intervention will be socio-educational and non-formal, so that through games, group dynamics, visits, lectures, artistic expression, formal relations and informal all this content, and yet they work and develop different skills will be addressed and skills such as expression, respect, coexistence, conflict resolution, presentation of ideas, leadership, teamwork, organization and management of mobility, Etc. The participants are responsible for their players and maturation, and the adult world must accompany this transit. This is an opportunity for new experiences, share challenges, difficulties, expectations and frustrations are all needed in the process of personal and social growth. These skills will be credited through YOUTHPASS. We believe the project will help young people to be more fit and competent to face the future in the EU single market, more European, and more prepared to go into the adult world stage.
