Youth Empowerment: volunteering to get in a better world

YOUTH EMPOERMENT is a 6 months voluntary service project that will take place in Kalamata, Greece, and will last from may to November 2016. The Hosting project is the youth center managed by the youth organization KANE that work about youth policy, inclusion and equity.The voluntary activity will be developed in the youth center with the aim to motivate and actively involve youth trough non formal learning, cultural and creative , environmental and sport activities.The general mission of the youth center project is:- promote active participation in society, the sense of solidarity, inter cultural understanding and the respect of diversity;- promote European culture and cohesion;- facilitate youth foreigners inclusion in a local community by the use of non formal activity and fostering youth initiative;- spur youth to express their idea and take the responsibility of their thinking;- help youth to self development and improvement of self esteem.Thank to this project will be promote a local, national and international level the importances of youth empowerment, youth work and enhance the cooperation in between local and international partner involved in this sector.This project aim to reinforce the importance of the non formal and informal learning and support the recognition of those experiences especially for the ability to give motivation and empower youth with less opportunity that can feel motivate and supported to find a position in the society.All the actors involved in this project promote the same values: respect of differences, democracy, human rights, are against discrimination, and gave their support to encourage active participation to improve the quality of society.
