Youth Empowerment for Democracy Building
Start date: Dec 1, 2012,

Euroforum East-West network unites NGOs from 8 member countries (Germany, France, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Spain and Poland). Network aims at developing dialogue among young people with different cultural backgrounds, contributing to overcome prejudices, promoting active citizenship, involvement of civil society in decision-making processes and an overall European awareness. Considering that 2013 is the European Year of Citizenship, that each country will host elections in the 2-next years (local or national) and that next European elections will take place in 2014. Euroforum wants to empower 26 participants so that (i) they increase their knowledge concerning political and civic involvement through a transnational exchange of experiences and practices, (ii) they further develop a transnational community of youth with a vision of democracy spreading adequate knowledge and tools in their organizations and countries, (iii) they are able to spread the knowledge gained at local level. The project includes one 2-day advance planning visit in Minsk (Belarus) in December 2012, one 6-day seminar in Tbilisi (Georgia) in February 2013, followed by an implementation phase in each country from February 2013 to July 2013 (organization of local actions and photo shootings). The proposed activities will mobilize the expertise of the EF on three tools (simulation games, photography and online-journalism) and apply them on 3 phases of the elections: the pre-election phase, the observation of elections themselves and the post-election phase.
