Youth CLUB - Creativity Leads Us to Business
Start date: Jun 1, 2015,
End date: Mar 31, 2016
The participants of our project Youth CLUB - Creativity Leads Us to Business were young people from Poland, Denmark, Portugal and Lithuania. The main activity in the project was a youth exchange held in Gorki Wielkie. 41 people participated in it. The project aims were to encourage young people who spend a lot of time watching TV, surfing the Net, playing computer games, using tablets and smartphones or play station to come out to the real world. We wanted to find out how young people could spend their time actively and creatively. We wised to encourage youngsters to do sports, to eat healthily, to develop their artistic skills i.e. dancing, singing, painting. We aimed to develop skills and knowledge which are necessary on the modern job market – foreign language skills, team work skills, knowledge on how to establish and develop and\ organization or private business. We also developed other important skills – team work competence, time management, negotiating, work under stress and under time pressure. We created a concept of an Active Youth Centre (CAC- Creative and Active Citizen). We worked in international groups responsible for various themes i.e. sports, healthy food, arts, entrepreneurship, ICT. Our project was based on the idea of intercultural learning stimulating creativity and active participation of young people. We used methods of non-formal education e.g. brainstorming sessions, simulation games, mind maps, round-table discussions, energizers, ice-breakers etc.
The participants developed a lot of important skills i.e. language, entrepreneurship, ICT, team work. First and foremost, the project aimed to develop in young people an active attitude. The project had impact on the local, regional and national level. Nevertheless, the biggest influence was felt on the participants. We believe the project brought positive long-term effects on all the people involved in it.
