Youth against invisibility - YAI

Youth Against Invisibility project is aimed at offering opportunities of personal, social and professional growth to young people with fewer opportunities, leaving in the suburban area's of the region involved, through the development of an international youth active citizenship's process. Through local and international non formal educational activities, such as workshops, discussions, role-plays etc., the project wants to increase young people's consciousness about their cultural and social context, as well as their awareness about personal life skills (social and transversal competences), ideas, objectives and potential as protagonists of their life and their community. Asking young people their opinion and giving them international and local visibility this project wants to turn young people involved from target subjects to multiplier, facilitator, educator amongst their equals about the project's topics. Promoting their social and personal life skills, as well as their professional abilities concerning ICT tools (through the realization of web-blogs, videos, facebook pages etc) the project aims at promoting the young people's social and professional inclusion.Furthermore, YAI project aims at empowering intercultural dialogue and the youths' consciousness about global issues (such as MDG) and its connection whit local communities' problems. The activities' venues are: Salvador (Brazil), Ancona (Marche region, Italy), Lisbon (Grande Lisboa region), Yakassé (Abengourou region) which are been chosen for their common priorities and problems connected with geographical, cultural and social exclusion of young people leaving in suburban areas.The activities foreseen are:- Local workshops and discussion involving about 25 young people for each local community concerning the following questions: What do you think and know about your local community? What do you like and what would you like to change?- International workshop in Lisbon, involving 4 young people from each country, during which each group will present its community and will share non formal educational good practices (peer to peer education, Pangea's methodology, etc.) whit other participants;- Local adaptation and implementation of good practices, concerning 2 workshops' realization in each country involving about 15 local young people each;- International final seminar in Ancona, during which all the young people's ideas and proposals about local and global community's empowerment will be expressed and collected;- Realization of disseminations tool such as 4 videos concerning local interviews to young people about local community, a weblog for each local community (connected whit facebook page), a final publication.YAI project will directly involve about 220 young people (55 for each country).The impact foreseen by Youth Against Invisibility is the increase of awareness and knowledge of youngpeople about their community, as well as their participation as local and global active citizens, able toinvolve and sensitize other young people, ensuring the project sustainability.
