Yout(th) and Water(land)
Start date: Aug 1, 2013,

The aim of the project is to get participants familiar with the fact that preserving the environment contributes to our wellbeing and improves the healthy lifestyles of young people. The way to do this is to get young people out into the environment via outdoor activities, give them the knowledge and tools that will raise their motivation, self-development, self-reliance and giving them a stake in the environment in order to empower and encourage them to fight and protect it. Shortening the options for young people to get out into the natural world and enjoy it, this will be a chance for social interaction, well being and change for our health and our environment. The project directly will lead to development and sustainability of a healthy life style while preserving and protecting the environment. The youth exchange "You(th) and Water(land)" featuring 40 youngsters from Portugal, Lithuania, Turkey, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, Albania and Macedonia will be held in Dojran, Macedonia, between 24 September till 1 October 2013, and based around the theme of the promoting young people’s health and healthy life style while protecting of the lake and countryside. Discussions about healthy life style, nutrition, our connection with the nature, the benefits we get from the nature and what we might loose by destroying and not protecting it, will on a direct way include workshops centred on ways to protect the environment and to promote environmentalism as a social and political agenda as well as workshops that encourage young people to enjoy spending time in the natural environment.
